Lightning/2000 runs under any currently available version of Windows (including 64-bit operating systems), as well as older versions (like Windows 98).

We have run the installer under both Windows Vista and Windows 7 by using those operating systems' "compatibility mode".  For installation under Windows 7 or Windows Vista, just right-click on the installer program (SETUP.EXE) and choose "Troubleshoot Compatibility" from the popup menu.

For operating systems that are newer than Windows XP that don't have such a "compatibility mode", the installation process is somewhat different.

To install Lightning/2000 under one of these operating systems, you only need to copy the "Lightning2000" installation folder from the CD (or ZIP file) into the "Program Files" folder on your computer.

Though the original Boltek device driver for the PCI card can be installed in Windows Vista, the installation of the new driver is easier.  v5.5 of Lightning/2000 utilizes either device driver.
